Glencoe School District 35 recently issued the following announcement.
We are pleased to welcome our school community back from the Winter Break. Happy New Year!
As we look ahead to the winter opportunities for our students, the South School ice skating unit in Physical Education will soon begin. Classes will skate on Wednesdays or Thursdays, beginning January 16 and 17. Specific timing and information will be shared from our classroom teachers.
New this year, helmets are required for all ice skating sessions. Students can wear hockey, ski or bike helmets. While the time on the ice is brief, if your child will be wearing a winter hat under his or her helmet, please be sure to re-fit the helmet. Students are welcome to store helmets in their lockers during the four weeks of classes. Please make sure your child comes to school with snow pants, jackets, gloves. Every child must be properly dressed to be allowed on the ice.
Our West School students celebrated the end of 2018 as they skated at Watts on December 21st. We are most thankful for the opportunity to partner with the Glencoe Park District and access the Watts Skating Rink for these events.
