Evanston Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.
Have you ever wanted to learn more about how the police department works? Perhaps you’re interested in a career in law enforcement? Or maybe you’d just like to be more civically engaged?
If any of these situations apply to you, you’re in luck! Applications are currently being accepted for the Evanston Police Department Citizen Police Academy 2019 spring session. This interactive program is facilitated by Evanston officers and covers a wide range of topics relating to the Evanston Police Department. The program gives participants a closer look at the Evanston Police Department and policing as it relates to Evanston. Many topics are covered, including crime investigation, traffic procedures, investigative tactics, and much more. The program lasts 13 weeks and meets on Wednesday evenings, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., February 27 through May 22.
The program is completely free and open to those who live or work in Evanston. The application along with more details can be found at cityofevanston.org/cpa. Space is limited; apply by February 10.
