City of Evanston issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.
Mayor Hagerty's 2018 Holiday Food, Book and Toy Drive brightened the holiday season for 393 Evanston families in need thanks to generous donations from community members and businesses.
Volunteers and City staff distributed holiday turkeys, customized food baskets, and more than 800 toys and 1,000 books at the annual event on Wednesday, December 19 at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. View photos of the event.
"Thank you to our City staff, volunteers and the many community members and businesses who generously provided food, toys, books and financial contributions to this year’s drive,” said Mayor Hagerty. “The holiday season is even brighter when all Evanston families can celebrate.”
