City of Des Plaines recently issued the following announcement.
Save-the-Date! Join us for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 7th, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in Metropolitan Square.
Hand-decorated holiday trees, live entertainment, and live reindeer will be sure to put a smile on your face.
Of course, Santa Claus and his elves will be there - adding your holiday wishes to his list. Our Mitten Tree will be ready for your donations of new hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves and the Des Plaines Self-Help Closet & Food Pantry will be accepting non-perishable food donations.
At 6:30 P.M., we'll flip the big switch to light up the city and celebrate the meaning of family, friends, and community.
