State Senate race: Democrat Gillespie wins voter tally in Elk Grove Township Precinct 23

Ann Gillespie led Republican Tom Rooney in votes cast in Elk Grove Township Precinct 23 for the District 27 state Senate race, according to the latest vote count.

Gillespie appeared to outpace Rooney by a margin of 11.2 percent on Tuesday in the precinct.
