With less than a week left before voters go to the polls, Glenview state House candidate Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz received another $48,901 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Oct. 18 and Oct. 26, state filings show.

The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends for Jennifer, the campaign committee that supports Gong-Gershowitz’s race against Republican Peter Lee in the 17th House District.

The district covers all or part of Evanston, Glenview, Golf, Morton Grove, Northbrook, Skokie and Wilmette.

Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $531,731 to the candidate’s campaign this election cycle.

Madigan spent $6.5 million on 24 candidates between Oct 18 and Oct 30, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. He has spent $15.84 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates this election cycle, thus far.
