CITY OF DES PLAINES: Halloween Trick-or-Treating in Des Plaines

Halloween

City of Des Plaines recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Des Plaines does not have designated hours for trick-or-treating on Halloween. However, we encourage parents to be aware of the hazards that exist after sunset.

If children are trick-or-treating at dusk or after dark, chemical glow sticks are a safe light source for trick-or-treaters to have with them, or attached to their costumes to enhance their visibility.

Drivers should exercise due caution at all times, but special attention should be given when driving near schools, parks, and residential neighborhoods on Halloween.

The Des Plaines Police Department will have its Pumpkin Patrol out to assist our officers and residents this Halloween, but we encourage everyone to report suspicious behavior as soon as it happens by calling 9-1-1.
