Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 students suspended 76 times in a single school year

Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 reported 76 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 76 students during the year. That equates to 1.6 percent of the 4,888 students enrolled.

Of the 66 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes 27 incidents. There were 22 incidents of unspecified reasons. For 61 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 10 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes four incidents. There were four incidents of unspecified reasons. For eight incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
