Arlington Heights School District 25 students suspended 44 times in a single school year

Arlington Heights School District 25 reported 44 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 44 students during the year. That equates to 0.8 percent of the 5,595 students enrolled.

Of the 33 in-school suspensions, 16 were given to boys and 17 were given to girls, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 33 incidents. For 29 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 11 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 11 incidents. For eight incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
