Hoffman Estates Park District recently issued the following announcement.
Residents over age 50 are invited to HE Parks’ free 50+ Open House event on Wed., Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. at the Triphahn Center (1685 W. Higgins Rd.). At the event, participants can learn more about the expanded services now available for adults over the age of 50 at the newly remodeled 50+ Active Adults Center.
The Open House event will include free lunch for the first 100 guests to arrive, sponsored by Brookdale Senior Living, plus live entertainment, free blood pressure screenings, vendor tables, door prizes and giveaways. Skin cancer screenings (by appointment) are sponsored by Pinnacle Dermatology of Hoffman Estates. The vendor fair will run from 9-11:00 a.m. and the entertainment and lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m.
The park district offers an all-inclusive membership that includes unlimited access to the new and expanded 50+ Active Adults Center. The center was renovated in 2017.
“Our research in the community revealed a need for additional services for people over age 50,” said Superintendent of Recreation Colleen Palmer for HE Parks. “The renovations and expansion of services are a direct result of our research and the Comprehensive Master Plan.”
