Schaumburg Park District issued the following announcement on July 30.
Discover an abundance of fresh new flavors and local dishes at Farm to Fork Festival, hosted by Schaumburg Park District’s Volkening Heritage Farm.
Open to adults 21 and older, the festival is set for 5-8 p.m., Aug. 20 at the Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road. The evening will feature some of the area’s top chefs preparing and serving recipes with locally sourced fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses. Locally made beers and wines also will be served.
“Farm to Fork Festival is a great opportunity to highlight regional foods,” said Patty Kennedy, farm program coordinator. “People love knowing that the food being prepared at the festival is fresh, seasonal and local.”
Cost is $38 per person for adults 21 and older. Registration deadline is Aug. 18.
