CITY OF EVANSTON: Watch 'Moana' at Ryan Field August 2

City of Evanston issued the following announcement on July 25.

Evanston’s 2018 Starlight Movies in the Park series begins on Thursday, August 2 with Northwestern Athletics' special showing of Disney's "Moana" at Ryan Field, located at 1501 Central St.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. for a 7 p.m. showing. Parking and admission are free. Community members should enter Ryan Field through Gate K in the southwest corner of the stadium. Blankets will be allowed on the playing surface but chairs are prohibited in order to protect the grass. While at Ryan Field, fans also will be able to pick up the 2018 Northwestern Football poster.

Evanston’s Starlight Movies in the Park series, presented by the City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, continues through Saturday, September 1, and will feature nine movies at locations throughout the city:

  • Thursday, August 2 – Moana, Ryan Field, 1501 Central St.
  • Saturday, August 4 – Black Panther, Twiggs Park, Dodge Ave. at Simpson St.
  • Tuesday, August 7 (National Night Out) – Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Penny Park, Lake St. at Ashland Ave.
  • Saturday, August 11 – Kubo and the Two Strings, Robert Crown Park, 1701 Main St.
  • Tuesday, August 14 – Monster Trucks, Eggleston Park, Hartrey Ave. at Payne St.
  • Saturday, August 18 – A Wrinkle in Time, Baker Park, Keeney St. at Forest Ave.
  • Tuesday, August 21 – Wonder, Bent Park, Central St. at Cowper Ave.
  • Saturday, August 25 – Wonder Woman, Arrington Lakefront Lagoon at Dawes Park, Sheridan Rd. at Church St.
  • Saturday, September 1 – Black Panther, James Park, Dodge Ave. at Mulford St.
Interactive family activities will be offered before movies from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. With the exception of the August 2 event, all movies will begin at dusk. Admission is free. Movies will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
