Schaumburg Park District issued the following announcement on July 20.
Don your favorite pirate gear and assemble your crew—it’s time to walk the plank to Schaumburg Park District’s Bock Family Obstacle Course.
Set for 10:45 a.m. to noon, Aug. 4 at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane, the pirate-themed, all-ages event features 10 different tasks families must complete to win prizes. Obstacles will be located in the park, building and pool. The family to complete the course the fastest will win the grand prize.
“Expect a morning of fun with your family,” said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager and general program supervisor. “Some tasks will be easy and others a bit more challenging. Be sure to bring your swimsuits because some of the tasks will require someone in the family to get into the pool.”
Cost is $15 per family. Registration is required by Aug. 2.
