Glencoe Park District issued the following announcement on July 5.
Due to a vacancy left by Commissioner Steve Gaines, the Board of Commissioners is now seeking a new Commissioner.
This appointment will fill the vacancy on the Park Board left by Steve Gaines.
He resigned due to a move out of state. Per state statute, an appointment to a vacancy on the Park Board may be made by the Board President and confirmed by the Park Board of Commissioners.
Should an appointment be made, the replacement commissioner will serve until the next election through the May regular Board meeting.
The replacement Commissioner would then be eligible to run for another term in the April 2019 election should they choose to do so.
