City of Evanston Arts Council issued the following announcement on May 25.
The Evanston Arts Council has announced the 2018-19 Cultural Fund Grant Program's 12 award recipients. The goal of the program is to sustain and advance our community’s visual, performance, literary and media arts and to activate the extraordinary assets of the community to develop Evanston as an arts hub and destination.
There are three program categories: grants to organizations; special programs and projects; and individual arts projects. Applicants may only apply for one grant.
The Arts Council strongly encourages broad participation by Evanston’s diverse cultural community through collaboration, engagement and innovation. Funds were provided by the City of Evanston. The 2018-2019 Cultural Fund Grant recipients, their grant focus and dollar award are:
- Terran Doehrer (music), $2,000
- Noelle Krimm (theatre), $2,000
- Perspective Gallery (photography), $3,000
- Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art (visual art), $3,000
- Ridgeville Park Foundation (theatre), $3,000,
- Chicago School of Professional Psychology (multi-disciplinary; St. Nicholas and Beth Emet), $3,000
- Mudlark Theater (theatre), $3,000
- Piven Theatre Workshop (theatre), $2,500
- Open Studio Project (visual art), $2,500
- Evanston In-School Music Assoc. (music), $2,000
- Evanston Symphony Orchestra (music), $2,000
- Literature for All of Us (literary art), $2,000
