City of Park Ridge Bike Task Force met May 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the Task Force:

I. Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

The following members were present:

• Joe DeYoung

• Jim O’Donnell

• Mark Kleinschmit

• Scott Scheuber

• Dan Thorne

II. Approval of Minutes

III. Discussion Items

The purpose of the Special Meeting was to review progress of Bike Route Signage Surveys

Survey Status / Target Complete Date

Zone 1 / Scott

Zone 2 / Joe

Zone 3 / Mark

Zone 4 / Dan (Hard Copy from E-Mail)

Discussion:

• Sign Type Preferences / Existing Routes / New Routes (examples from Bike Plan)

• Parameters for Mileage to Destinations

• Problem Areas

• Changes to plan of record

To be presented at June Meeting:

• Sign Types

• New Route Proposals

Survey status:

Joe: 100%

Scott: 80%

Mark: 80%

Dan: ?

Sign design: add destination signs, arrows to existing “Bike Route Signs”. New route sign design same as existing.

- Green bike logo / confirmation

- Destinations/ individual

- Arrows / individual

Validation process of all segments routes and signs. Who can do this? (Other team members?)

City GIS upload from survey data / bike parking too. GIS bike routes to city web site and google maps (assign to team member)

Bike parking sign to Metra

Add segment on Busse from Elm to Greenwood. Destination unknown

Mileage included in survey data as appropriate. Add to destination sign.

Survey data required in Excel workbook format to determine Bill of Materials.

Follow up decisions:

Niles route north as related to Greendale and Greenwood.

Northeast park path and or eliminate existing parallel bike route

Action:

Schedule weekly meetings Tuesdays or Wednesdays

IV. Adjourn

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM
