Graduates earn 1,539 degrees, certificates from Oakton Community College

About 38.9 percent of the 1,539 degrees and certificates handed out by the Oakton Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Plaines conferred 599 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 599 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 130 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 67 certificates in Accounting Technology/Technician and Bookkeeping.

The college enrolled 9,443 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
