Graduates earn 31 degrees from Hebrew Theological College

About 71 percent of the 31 degrees and certificates handed out by the Hebrew Theological College in 2016-17 were to students in Philosophy and Religious Studies programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Skokie conferred 22 bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Jewish/Judaic Studies. Data shows the school gave out 22 bachelor's degrees in Jewish/Judaic Studies, followed by 8 bachelor's degrees in Talmudic Studies and 1 master's degrees in Rabbinical Studies.

The college enrolled 339 students for 2016-17, including 335 in undergraduate programs and 4 in graduate programs.
