Katy Dolan Baumer, the Republican candidate for state representative in the 44th District, has based her campaign on a platform of business and regulatory reform, and has also strongly advocated in favor of working to help small businesses across the state.

“I do not think state government is working to help small businesses to the extent I think it should," she previously told the North Cook News. "I believe that there is too much government intrusion on businesses and that is getting worse."

Baumer is set to face off against Rep. Fred Crespo in November’s general election.

She recently held a “Rally for Katy for 44” gathering in Hoffman Estates and was joined at the two-hour event at the Thumka Indian Bar by GOP candidate for Attorney General Erika Harold.

"Enjoyed supporting Katy Dolan Baumer last night in Hoffman Estates," Harold wrote on her Facebook page. "She has impressive plans for the future of the 44th district and (Illinois)."

The 44th District includes Cook County, Streamwood; and parts of Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Schaumburg, Elgin and Bartlett.
