Report: New Trier spent $25,007 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at New Trier Township High School District 203 is up 22 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $20,423 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $25,007 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 4241 to 4006.

New Trier's spending in 2016-17 was 93 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
