Report: Skokie spent $15,179 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Skokie School District 68 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $14,857 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $15,179 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1773 to 1851.

Skokie's spending in 2016-17 was 17 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
