Report: West Northfield spent $17,049 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at West Northfield School District 31 is up 26 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $13,493 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,049 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 855 to 872.

West Northfield's spending in 2016-17 was 31 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
