Report: Mount Prospect spent $10,786 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Mount Prospect School District 57 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $9,781 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,786 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 2158 to 2292.

Mount Prospect's spending in 2016-17 was 17 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
