Report: Avoca spent $20,148 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Avoca School District 37 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $19,737 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $20,148 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 700 to 751.

Avoca's spending in 2016-17 was 55 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
