Report: Prospect Heights spent $13,451 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Prospect Heights School District 23 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $12,746 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,451 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1521 to 1603.

Prospect Heights's spending in 2016-17 was 4 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
