Report: Pennoyer spent $9,756 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Pennoyer School District 79 is down 13 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $11,242 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,756 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 413 to 403.

Pennoyer's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
