City of Park Ridge Sister Cities Commission met April 5.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

Call to Order: 7:35 p.m.

Roll Call- Present:, Nadya Zimmerman, Peggy Sherman, Betty Henneman, Reta Kikutani, George Miler, Janet Miller, Jack Miller, Sue Beaumont.

Guests: Sam Bergstrom, Caroline Bergstrom (Maine South High School Government Students)

Approval of minutes of last meeting as written.

Betty reported that Domenic Toni”s cousin died in an accident recently. Please remember him.

Betty reported that City Officials are examining all volunteer committees in regard to attendance at their meetings, term of office, reappointment, etc.

Pub Dinner Event: Harp and Fiddle, who is doing the catering for our Pub dinner will also serve the beer and wine rather than the committee handling this because of the liquor regulations in the city. Peggy Sherman reported on her conversation with Declan from Harp and Fiddle regarding the food. The menu will include Shephard’s pie, Lemon chicken, vegetables, salad and dessert.

Nadya Zimmerman will purchase all our table service needs, plates, silver, napkins, etc.

Drink tickets need to be sold.

Décor- Sue Beaumont will provide dart boards could be provided (no darts) for effect of a pub. Pictures of British royals, etc. will be provided on tripods.

Prizes will be awarded to winning tables

Jack Miller will be Master of Ceremonies. A “Bobbies hat” and special Police jacket will be provided as a costume.

Set-Up will be at 1:30 the day of the event at the Church.

The meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
