Evanston Township High School District 202 issued the following announcement on May 4.
Four seniors from Evanston Township High School were honored in April 2018 by the Kiwanis Club of Evanston to recognize their excellence in athletics as well as academics. Jacob Griffin, Meg Rogan, Neha Singh, and Lucas Verrilli each received the Ted Van Zelst Award.
The students spoke of their high points in athletics and how their competition also benefited their academic progress. Griffin is a Boys Lacrosse player; Rogan is a member of the Girls Soccer team; Singh and Verrilli participate in Girls and Boys Swimming & Water Polo respectively.
Student honorees continue to inspire Kiwanis Club members through their good works, academic accomplishments, and community interest. The Ted Van Zelst award was named for a prominent Evanston businessman, entrepreneur, and humanitarian. For more information about the Kiwanis Awards, contact Marian Kurz at 847-491-1938.
