City of Park Ridge Sister Cities Commission met March 8.
Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:
I. Call To Order 7:30 PM by Chair Betty Henneman
Ii. Roll Call / Present
A. Members: Betty H [BH], Janet Miller [JnM], Jack Miller [JkM], Nadya Zimmerman [NZ], Herb Zuegel [HZ], Barb Zuegel [BZ]
B. Guests: None, but BH reported on her contacts since the last meeting with Members George Miler, Sue Beaumont, Reta Kikutani, Peggy Sherman, Bernie Rouse, & Otto Kohler.
Iii. Approval Of Minutes
February 8, 2017 Meeting - Approved as Revised, including Worksheet; all sent to Deputy Clerk CP for file.
Iv. City Business
A. Glass Sales - Nothing new since last Meeting. Reaffirmed 90+ available for use/sale at Pub Dinner
A. Memo Regarding Committees - BH led the discussion about an email from the Mayor regarding “Review of City Boards and Commissions” [attached]. The Commission concluded ‘wait & see’ was its proper position for now. The Volunteer Thank You invitation [also attached] was discussed too, individual decisions being appropriate in that case.
V. Events
A. British Pub Dinner
1. Publicity Plans: 20+ copies of a poster were distributed among members for posting in City Hall, around town in shops, restaurants, churches, etc. Members were pleased with the design which was created by high school volunteer Anne Longman, last month’s meeting guest, & printed by HZ [below]. He Can Make More For You.
A Press Release with Photo was sent to the local papers [HZ 3/13]. A PDF copy is attached.
All Members: ASAP copy, email & make it the ‘talking piece’ across your network of friends.
Deputy Clerk Peterson has placed a condensed version on the City website. Members: Disseminate it too:

2. Committee Responsibilities Reviewed: Group discussion confirmed good progress has been made since the last meeting, the record of which is shown on the attached Worksheet. BUT there is more to do!
3. Contacts: Permits, Set-up/Clean-up: See attached Worksheet, which includes Music, Catering, etc. too.
4. Trivia presentation/New Ideas: See attached Worksheet, which includes input from Kinver, table prizes, etc.
