Analysis: South Barrington pays $7.14 for every $1 pensioners contribute to South Barrington Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.7 percent of the $1,069,209 the South Barrington Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $7.14 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, South Barrington contributed $937,886 to the fund, which saw a $329,248 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $131,323, or 12.3 percent, in 2016.
