Analysis: Skokie pays $3.86 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Skokie Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.7 percent of the $4,566,792 the Skokie Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.86 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Skokie contributed $3,595,244 to the fund, which saw a $186,675 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $931,116, or 20.4 percent, in 2016. Another $40,432 came from other unspecified sources.
