Analysis: Schaumburg pays $3.51 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Schaumburg Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.7 percent of the $4,842,401 the Schaumburg Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.51 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Schaumburg contributed $3,764,945 to the fund, which saw a $32,919 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $1,072,444, or 22.1 percent, in 2016. Another $5,012 came from other unspecified sources.
