Analysis: Palatine pays $4.06 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Palatine Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.3 percent of the $4,560,248 the Palatine Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.06 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Palatine contributed $3,660,137 to the fund, which saw a $82,173 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $899,896, or 19.7 percent, in 2016. Another $215 came from other unspecified sources.
