Analysis: Northfield pays $7.40 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Northfield Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.1 percent of the $1,728,761 the Northfield Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $7.40 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Northfield contributed $1,523,140 to the fund, which saw a $627,007 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $205,621, or 11.9 percent, in 2016.
