Analysis: Mt Prospect pays $4.20 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mt Prospect Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.8 percent of the $3,475,052 the Mt Prospect Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.20 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mt Prospect contributed $2,806,982 to the fund, which saw a $335,804 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $668,070, or 19.2 percent, in 2016.
