Analysis: Harwood Heights pays $2.97 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Harwood Heights Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.8 percent of the $893,497 the Harwood Heights Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.97 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harwood Heights contributed $668,617 to the fund, which saw a $158,539 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $224,805, or 25.2 percent, in 2016. Another $75 came from other unspecified sources.
