Analysis: Elk Grove Village pays $3.04 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Elk Grove Village Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 47.6 percent of the $5,410,769 the Elk Grove Village Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.04 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Elk Grove Village contributed $2,573,401 to the fund, which saw a $253,401 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $844,917, or 15.6 percent, in 2016. Another $1,992,451 came from other unspecified sources.
