Analysis: Buffalo Grove pays $3.90 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Buffalo Grove Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79 percent of the $3,076,927 the Buffalo Grove Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.90 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Buffalo Grove contributed $2,430,017 to the fund, which saw a $124,579 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $622,198, or 20.2 percent, in 2016. Another $24,712 came from other unspecified sources.
