Analysis: Barrington pays $4.83 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Barrington Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.2 percent of the $1,134,375 the Barrington Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.83 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Barrington contributed $943,809 to the fund, which saw a $119,940 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $195,233, or 17.2 percent, in 2016.
