Norwood Park Township Republicans are welcoming Anthony Beckman as the new township GOP committeeman, and Beckman has big plans for the future.

"I'm really humbled," Beckman told North Cook News

Beckman has been involved in politics for years and being from the Chicago area gives his election to the committeeman post special significance.

"I look forward to the challenges now and in the future," Beckman said. "I plan to bring good blue-collar conservative work values to the area."

Beckman is aiming to fix challenges that include reducing property taxes and state income tax, pension reform in Illinois, and other initiatives to save the residents of Illinois from having to pay exorbitant taxes.

"In the state of Illinois, government pensions are a big issue right now as well as the debt that we're in," Beckman said. "It's a working-class issue that we all have to deal with."

Beckman said that now that he's been elected GOP committeeman, he's dedicated to listening to people's complaints and trying to bring about reform in whatever ways he can.

"I'm ready to actually fight for the working class and not just the one percenters and people that have hedge funds," Beckman said. "It's going to take a lot of things to start piecing together ideas to resurrect this state."
