The calls in Hoffman Estates included 109 fires - 68 structure fires, 14 vehicle fires and 23 other fires. The fire department also responded to four calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $892,665 in fire loss - or about $8,190 per fire.
The department also received 784 false calls, including 30 malicious calls and 754 other false calls.
The calls resulted in three civilian fire-related injuries and one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, nine fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.
The Hoffman Estates Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has active employee and retired or inactive employee, was $3,336,755 in debt as of December 2015, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $30,612 for every fire in 2016.
