Chicago lawyer named Northwest Side GOP precinct committeeman

Jonathan Edelman didn't make it to the state House in 2016, but the Chicago lawyer is keeping up the Republican Party fight.

Northwest Side GOP Club Chair Matt Podgorski announced recently that Edelman has been appointed precinct committeeman for Ward 39, Precinct 44.

“I am very pleased that Mr. Edelman has agreed to serve the people of Edgebrook,” Podgorski said in a statement. “Jonathan ran a solid, positive campaign in 2016 and will be a great champion for true reform and spending control.”

Edelman, who lives in Edgebrook, was an assistant state's attorney general in Jefferson City, Missouri, and started his Edelman Law Firm in 2008 in Chicago.

Last November, Edelman lost the election for the House seat in District 15 to Chicago Democrat John D'Amico, the district's incumbent since 2004.
