Runners can get back in "The Chase" on June 17 in Des Plaines.
The Des Plaines Park District is hosting its eighth annual 5K run, rain or shine, beginning at 8 a.m. at Prairie Avenue and Pearson Street, according to the district's website.
The top three male and female finishers in each of several age divisions will receive awards.
Early registration is $30 per adult, while race-day registration, from 6:30 to 7:40 a.m., is $35. Proceeds from the race go to the park district's scholarship fund.
Packets can be picked up from 3 to 8 p.m. on June 15, and from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 16 at Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St., or before 7:40 a.m. on race day.
Refreshments will be available at the race. Participants with strollers must start at the back of the race lineup, and no dogs will be allowed.
