Prospect Heights zoning board increases light pole height

The Prospect Heights Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals met Oct. 27 to increase the parking lot light pole height.

Description of Requests:

A. Special Use Permit to allow an “Automobile Service Station” use as a permitted Special

Use in the City’s B2-A General Commercial Business District which is an allowable special

use per Section 5-7-3C of the City of Prospect Heights Zoning Code.

B. Variation request to reduce the required corner side yard from 30’ to 9’ a proposed

reduction of 21’ as required per Section 5-7-3F3.

C. Variation request to increase the parking lot light pole height from permitted 12’ to 23’

(including base) per Section 5-8-2F8a.

D. Variation to allow a maximum of 15.1 f.c. foot candle parking lot light level in excess of the

maximum 3.0 foot candle level per Section 5-8-2F8c.

2. Appearance Review: Public Meeting Case No. ZBA 16-14

A. Preliminary Engineering Approval per Section 6-3-3 of the Prospect Heights Zoning
