The Schaumburg Boomers baseball team will open its 2017 season with a home game, according to the recently released schedule for next season on BoomersBaseball.com.
The Boomers will open its 48-game home schedule on May 12 against the Traverse City Beach Bums.
Games on Monday through Friday will start at 6:30 p.m., Saturday home games will start at 6 p.m., and Sunday home games will start at 1 p.m.
The Boomers also will have a home Memorial Day weekend series on May 26-28 and an Independence Day series on July 3-4.
There will be 22 fireworks shows during the season, with post-game fireworks set for every Friday and Saturday.
Schaumburg will finish the regular season on Sept. 3 at the Windy City Thunderbolts.
According to Frontier.BBstats.pointstreak.com, Schaumburg led the Frontier League in total attendance this year, with 172,996 fans, and average attendance, with 3,604 fans. The Boomers' total attendance was more than 9,000 fans greater than the total of the runner-up, the Gateway Grizzlies.
