Gott tells voters to secure family values this election

Election

Dan Gott, candidate for Illinois District 55, continues to bring his pro-family stance to the campaign.

When he recently joined other candidates as a guest at the Illinois Family Pac’s Annual event in Chicago, he spent time warning voters that this election will be one of the most volatile to secure traditional family values.

Gott, who supports the pro-family conservative efforts of PAC, said he believes that voters need to stand strong in November and vote for candidates who are committed to social issues that promote family values.

“Now is not the time to disengage before the November election,” Gott recently told North Cook News. “Registered voters with strong moral convictions must double down. We need more -- many more -- pro-life, pro-family and pro-children’s rights men and women in Springfield.”

Gott pointed to the recent legislation, SB 1564, which requires pro-life medical professionals to refer patients for medical procedures and services they find morally objectionable.

“Not one Republican voted for the final version of SB 1564,” Gott said. “Gov. Rauner’s decision to sign this bill into law is not the result for which so many people hoped would be the case.”

According to SB 1564, medical providers must refer or transfer a patient to another provider or give a list to the patient of other health care providers who can perform the procedure for the patient -- if the medical provider chooses not to perform procedures such as abortions.

“Traditional family values define the sanctity of life,” Gott said. “I believe it’s very important for people to respect the sanctity of life from conception, birth and until natural death occurs. I also believe children are a gift from the Lord, they are an inspiration to teach us that God’s love knows no bounds and has no equals.”

Family PAC, founded in 1992, has built a grassroots effort in Illinois to support pro-family and anti-tax issues. According to their website, the group has spent over $1.7 million to help candidates who are pro-family and committed to lower taxes and government.

“Voters need to find a local candidate they can support and volunteer and or financially support him or her,” Gott said. “Support those candidates who demonstrate an unashamed commitment to social issues, which are extremely important to the continued flourishing of traditional family values in America.”
