Oakton Community College will host a basketball camp from Monday through Thursday, Aug. 8-11, according to the school.
The camp is for boys and girls ranging in grades from kindergarten through freshmen in high school, and will be held at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus at 1600 E. Golf Road.
The camp will be overseen by Oakton’s athletic staff and student athletes. Each day will have two sessions. The morning session, which is from 9-11 a.m., will be for students in grades kindergarten through four. The focus of this session will be on rebounding, defense, shooting, ball handling and team concepts.
The later session, which is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is for students in grades five through nine. Skills to be practiced in this session will include off-the-dribble offense, instructional game play, advanced skill work and game shooting.
The camp fee is $50 per participant; the fee includes includes a camp T-shirt. The proceeds will support Oakton's basketball programs.
