Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation interviews McGaw Medical Center program director

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation met Wednesday, June 8.

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation regulates and licenses banks and other financial institutions in the state. Licenses individuals in more than 100 professional industries to ensure they meet qualifications and standards for practice.

FSMB Annual Meeting

Dr. Dray gave a report on his attendance at the FSMB 104th Annual Meeting in April 2016. Topics included: the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, medical marijuana regulation, team-based care regulation, telemedicine, ethics, USMLE, Uniform Application, closed residency files. There were resolutions on advocacy efforts for antitrust concerns for state medical boards, the compounding of medications by physicians and impaired physicians. There were reports on ethics issues such as practice drift, the duty to report incidents of adverse actions, and sale of goods by physicians and physician advertising. Dr. Dray noted that he also spoke to a number of vendors dealing with physician reentry and physician retraining. He obtained a lot of useful information from several organizations regarding services provided.
