Local leadership, library savvy and language expertise will mix as civic leader and state senate candidate Mel Thillens, multilingual library trustee and House candidate Jillian Rose Bernas and Sen. Christine Radogno (R-DIstrict 41) gather for a June 28 dinner event.
A baker’s dozen of local citizens will host the meet and greet — open to the public and sponsored by the Committee to Elect Mel Thillens — slated for 6-8 p.m. at Riccardo Ristorante, 1170 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg, featuring a dinner menu of mostaccioli, chicken parmesan, chicken vesuvio, pizza and salad.
Thillens, an entrepreneur and active community member, serves as Park Ridge Park Board commissioner, as well as vice president of his 80-year-old, family-owned, Chicago-area armored car business. Additionally, he maintains active ties to the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, in addition to coaching youth football and spending time with his wife and four sons.
Bernas, Republican Schaumburg Township District Library trustee, is running to replace State Rep. Michelle Mussman, a Democrat, in District 56. With a master's degree in public policy, she has years of experience as an international relations manager as well as Spanish language fluency and teaching credentials.
Hosts include Ryan Higgins, Aaron Del Mar, John Dabrowski, Scott and Char Kegarise, Lisa Mirabelli, George Dunham, Bob Schmidt, Nimish Jani, Dan and Kate Finneran, Christine Prochno and Candace Youngman.
