Local Government

By Ruth de Jauregui | Mar 31, 2016

The open house will be held on Saturday, May 14, at the Public Works facility.

The public is invited to attend the Village of Mount Prospect Public Works Department from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14.

The annual event will be held at the Public Works facility at 1700 W. Central Road.

In addition to a tour of the Public Works facility, attendees can take a ride in the aerial trucks and street sweepers and participate in a children's Fun Fact Hunt. The department will have displays showing how Public Works staff maintain the village's infrastructure, including the water and sewer systems, buildings, streets, vehicles and the parkway trees.

PW Paws, the Public Works Department's mascot, will also be attending the open house. The Mount Prospect Lions Club will have refreshments for the attendees.

Join Public Works on May 14 to learn about the many services provided by the department, including disposing of solid waste, snow plowing and street and sidewalk maintenance. Public Works employees work hard to keep the village clean and its systems running smoothly through the year, despite sun, wind, rain and snow events.
